How fast does Doug draw?

Doug averages 6 minutes per subject.

What equipment and supplies does Doug bring?

Doug supplies all the technology—computer, printer, monitor or projector. He’ll even bring collapsible stools if you can’t provide seating. All Doug requires from you is electricity. Doug does not need a table.

What are the choices of screens?

If you have a smaller room or trade show booth Doug will bring a 23″ Apple display mounted in portrait mode on a 7 foot stand. This setup delivers the sharpest image and most accurate color. You can view pictures of this and the other screen options here.

If you have a larger space or booth and need to make a bigger impact Doug provides a projector with custom 70″ diagonal portrait mode screen. Color accuracy and clarity can’t match the Apple monitor but the larger image size is compelling.

For the ultimate presentation, Doug’s computer will drive big screen LCDs and plasmas. If you have one or can rent one Doug will be happy to work with it.

What kind of prints do my guests get?

Doug prefers 4X6″ photos. They print quickly, look crisp and sharp, and are easy to tuck in a pocket and carry home. Since the caricatures are digital your guests can always print them bigger if they desire later.

How can I get my guests digital versions of the caricatures?

You needn’t do anything. Doug will post jpegs of each caricature online where they can be downloaded the following day. The address is in small type on each print. There are other delivery options, including e-mail and cell phone delivery; ask Doug if you are interested.

Can Doug put my logo in the picture?

Yes, your logo as well as any special message you want. Just e-mail him the logo or graphics before the event and he’ll send you a template sample for your approval.

For an additional fee Doug will create a custom body and/or background for your event. Feel free to ask Doug about any ideas you have that will help join your brand with his art.

What if I need more than one artist?

Doug will subcontract the best quality digital caricaturists available. You get one invoice and cut one check. Doug handles everything.

Should I choose traditional or digital media?

For most situations Doug’s ink-on-paper product is perfect. It’s fast, incredibly subtle and accurate—caricature like nothing your guests have ever seen. Digital caricatures, on the other hand, have innovations that some clients will find attractive. The novel presentation, the use of color, the easy-to-tuck-away print size, template possibilities, and versatility of use (caricatures can be e-mailed, downloaded off the web or sent to cell phones) make digital caricature a natural for trade shows, for example. Doug will be happy to advise you on the suitability of digital caricature for your event.
