DOUG SHANNON caricature artist

Unlike many caricature and “quick sketch” artists, Doug’s chief concern is that his subject is happy with the process as well as the results. He doesn’t insist his subjects pose by holding still; he wants them to relax and have fun. When we’re relaxed, we look our best, and Doug delivers the best in us. “Funny, yet flattering,” is Doug’s motto, and maybe that’s why they line up.

Google had a contest for kids and teens to do their logo art, you know, the one that changes every day. I drew the kids but also a bunch of Googlers. A lot of fun things to do there including face painting by my pal Jodi Carr, who you can see in the background. My [...]

This caricature was commissioned by a grad student as a gag gift for a beloved professor.
