An anonymous geek/poet from Silicon Valley hired me
to illustrate a Dr. Suess parody he wrote for the web.
Here’s a caricature of Yahoo’s Jerry Yang. See the whole
thing at Tech Crunch.

These two ladies have a radio show in Baltimore. They commissioned a caricature of themselves enacting a new venture that shall for the moment remain secret. But if you turn on Oprah someday and see two butterflies drinking tea you’ll remember you saw it here first.

This woman was the driving force behind the installation of lights at their high school football field. The balls she is juggling symbolize the obstacles as well as motivations involved. The final print was 11X14″ with a big matte, signed by all the football players. This is a good example of how character is crucial to caricature.

This retail manager wanted to acknowlege her store managers, trainers and staff for meeting, or rather beating their quarterly goals. A team caricature like this should do the trick. She was also supplied with a digital version of each sbject’s caricature for use on coffeemugs or wherever.

This gentleman is off to the Senior Golf Tour, so in his caricature I depicted him with Arnold Palmer at a specific course and hole named by the client. Note the logos and the golf cart in particular, these paid homage to the subject’s legacy at the company. Gift caricature is such a great way to say “Thanks, you won’t be forgotten.”

This mammoth HR department throws several off sites a year where new hires are introduced to the company and each other. These caricatures are based on personal info gathered beforehand, so every picture tells a story of some kind, and it is that much easier for everybody to get to know each other.

Here’s a unique caricature illustration I did for a wedding guest sign-in. It measures 24X30″ and will be framed after the reception. Note the time ribbon with milestones of the relationship. It’s been a long journey, but this state at least, finally gets it.
Since the art is digital it was easy for this client to use it elsewhere in the wedding too.

A rite of passage for new employees at PBWiki is getting a caricature. This company goes the extra mile and has me sketch from life rather than working from pictures. Pretty old school for a web startup huh?

This exec at Kraft foods is retiring and his cohorts wanted to lampoon his old fashioned ways, like hanging on to stocks forever (I bet that’s really paid off!) and driving the same car year after year. Great fun for everybody! Caricature is an incomparable tribute to character. This was printed out at 12X18″ by the way, and framed, a real memento!
